Federal Poverty Guidelines

Wonder what the "Federal Poverty Level" or "Federal Poverty Guidelinse" are all about? The federal government sets "guidelines" to determine eligibility for various benefits available to low-income US citizens and qualified immigrants. The guidelines are based upon the number of people included in a "household" and the income earned by all of the household members. The guidelines change yearly.
